What is Forest Honey?
Forest Honey is one of the most profound offerings from The Honey Shop. This Honey is collected from the wild bees (Apis Dorsata) found in deep Forests. The value of honey depends upon the flowers from which bees collect their nectar. And where can you find a variety of herbal and medicinal plants together in their full? Right, in a forest! In the heart of lush green forests, the blooming plants are not just fresh and in abundance but also 100% organic. Our tribal honey foragers travel deep within forest to harvest the honey collected by the wild bees from these plants and ultimately give you, the nature’s best in a jar.

Collection of Wild Bees
Our Forest Honey is collected from these giant honey bees, the Apis Dorsata. It is the collection of Pench Forest, Kanha Forest and Melghat Forest located in central India. Apis Dorsata are the indigenous Honey Bees, also called as the Rock Bees, native only to south east Asia. They built natural hives in Forest and there is no human interference involved in the honey collected by these indigenous honey bees. This makes our Forest honey, the honey in its most natural form. We pack this delicacy Raw, as extracted from the hive. Our Honey completely Raw, Organic, unprocessed and unpasteurized. Some basic filtration is done to remove the bigger dirt particles. We take care that bee pollens are not removed in this filtration process.

High on Pollen Count
Honey from Apis Dorsata is loaded with Bee Pollens, We have tested our Honey at InterTech Lab (Germany) for Bee Pollens in it. The test reveals that our Forest Honey has pollens from more than 23 different family of trees found in deep Forest. It has ten times more concentration of Bee pollens than that found in any bee keeping honey. This increases the medicinal value of Honey. Bee Pollens are known to have nutrients, enzymes, lipids, vitamins and over 250 active substances.

Immunity Booster
Our Organic Raw Forest Honey is rich in active compounds, including phenolic acids, flavonoids, ammino acids, proteins. This is due to the rich nectar and pollen source on which the bees feast during the honey collection process. Comparative studies show our honey has much higher content of phenolic and flavonoid content then normal nutritional value of other honey.
Collected with great difficulty

Collected with great difficulty
Collected with great difficulty- Apis Dorsata Honey Bees are three times more bigger and more aggressive than the Bees used for bee keeping (Apis Melefera). They built their hives is some of the most difficult places to collect, like tall trees and cliffs. Our trained tribal honey foragers travel deep within forest and put great efforts in collecting this Honey. However their Honey is so unique and amazing that its worth all the efforts that we put in for its collection.
No Bees Harmed in the Process –
We are proud of the fact that no bees are harmed in our Honey collection process. With the right training and equipment’s given to our tribal honey foragers, we ensure that the honey is collected without harming the bees. This keeps the eco-system balanced and population of Honey Bees increases with time.
