The 20×4 LCD Display Module is a character-based display designed to provide clear multi-line text output for embedded systems and electronics projects. Unlike smaller LCD modules, this display offers 20 characters per line across four lines, allowing more information to be shown simultaneously. The module is built around the HD44780-compatible controller, which is widely supported by most microcontroller platforms and development environments. It typically uses a parallel interface, but it can also be connected using an optional I²C backpack module to reduce wiring complexity and save microcontroller pins. The display includes contrast adjustment capability, allowing users to optimize text visibility depending on lighting conditions.
The 20×4 LCD display module can show 20 characters per line across 4 lines, providing more display space for menus, sensor data, system messages, and project information.
Based on the HD44780 controller standard, ensuring wide compatibility with , , ESP8266, ESP32, STM32, and other microcontroller platforms.
Uses a parallel interface by default, and can also be used with an optional I²C backpack module to reduce wiring and save microcontroller GPIO pins.
Includes an onboard contrast adjustment pin (V0) allowing easy tuning of display clarity for optimal visibility in different lighting environments.
Perfect for control panels, instrumentation systems, robotics displays, menu-based interfaces, sensor monitoring systems, and IoT device dashboards.
